A Fall Favorite – Honeycrisp Apples

My husband and I discovered Honeycrisp apples on our vacation in 1999. We went to Door County, Wisconsin that year and were driving around when we discovered a local orchard. They had a new variety of apple, a cross between Macoun and Honeygolds, that we had never tried before. They are sweet and tart and so delicious. We ended up bringing back plenty for our family to enjoy.

Honeycrisp apples have become a favorite fall with our family. As they have become more popular, we have found them becoming available in our local grocery store. We like this apple so much, we are planning to get a tree to plant in our backyard. Then every fall we will have an abundant supply of our favorite apples.

Fun Fact: Honeycrisp apples are the official state fruit of Minnesota.
