A New Mei Tai for Mommy

When our daughter was born 6 weeks ago, I was hoping for a laid back baby that would go with the flow of being in a family of two active boys. What we got is a baby that wants to be held all of the time and makes her presence known. She also is not much of a sleeper during the day yet – she fights it all the way. We do count ourselves lucky that she basically is sleeping through the night with only one nursing session, which makes this mommy happy.

I have always wanted to try wearing my children, but didn’t know where to begin. But, with the realization that I can’t possibly hold the baby all day and still take care of the boys and a household, the process began. I started researching and finally decided on a Mei Tai from Babyhawk. This is one of the best purchases I have made. The minute I put her in it she falls asleep and it has been great to have my hands free to do other things. One of the best places we have used it is the grocery store. I tried without the Mei Tai one week and we were all stressed by the end of the trip.

I am thinking of getting a sling from Nest as my next purchase. She seems to really like the carrier and I am enjoying having her near. As the last baby in our family, I am trying to savor every minute of her being this way. I only wish I had done this with the boys.

Check out Stephanie at Adventures in Babywearing. She does a weekly babywearing tip on Fridays. I have gotten some great tips and information from her.

I wished I had worn my kids. I tried with my first and hurt my back and just decided it was a bad idea, now looking back I think I was wearing it wrong-and should have looked for a different model.

    happy baby-wearing!

Got something to say?
