Thankful Tree

- flower pot
- small tree branch
- pebbles, rocks or marbles
- card stock or colored paper
- hole punch
- twine or string
- clear holiday lights, optional
To make the tree, insert a branch in a flowerpot filled with pebbles, rocks, or marbles. Cut leaf shapes from card stock or colored paper, use a hole punch to make a hole in each, and attach a loop of twine or string. At your gathering, have guests jot down a note of thanks on a leaf and hang it from the tree.

Snowflakes From Heaven
This week, I went with a group of women from my church and we decorated a Christmas tree for The Baby Fold’s 14th Annual Festival of Trees. We had a great time together.
The Christmas trees, 4′ and 7′, along with a gingerbread village, wreaths, centerpieces and celebrity trees are all auctioned off to support the children and families of The Baby Fold. They also have performers and special events throughout the 5 day event. It is one of our favorite family traditions for Christmas. My kids really enjoy the Jingle Bell Junction, where they have all kinds of kids activities…Santa even makes an appearance and there are sugar cookies from the Cookie Shop.

This is our finished tree…Snowflakes From Heaven. My son has a field trip Friday morning and I am excited for him to see the tree and our family will be going on Friday evening.

Christmas Giveaways

Ice Cream With Eyes
Our oldest son, Caleb, has been acting out a little more than usual lately. He has been needing some of the attention that has been shifted to his new baby sister.
So, Caleb and I went to Carl’s Ice Cream last night for a mommy and son date and he had his favorite, a chocolate ice cream cone with eyes. It was a great time for us to spend some quality time without his siblings around.
His daddy is planning on taking him to Qdoba for lunch on Saturday.
I have been trying to do some special things with him while his brother and sister are napping each day. We have been playing games, painting and reading his Bible Story activity and sticker books.
We are hoping this phase passes soon. It is beginning to wearing us out.
Menu Plan Monday - November 5
Tuesday – Hamburger Casserole, vegetable
Wednesday – Southwestern Chicken and Pasta, salad
Thursday – Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches, potato chips, pickles, double decker banana cups
Friday – Pizza, caesar salad
Saturday – Breakfast – Blueberry Oatmeal Breakfast Cake, fruit – Dinner – Beef Vegetable Soup, honey of an oatmeal bread, apple crisp
