Silly Faces
My husband was playing around the other day with our new flash and this is the result…our kids silly faces.

Daddy’s Night 2010

My daddy’s name is Larry. He is 37 years old. He has brown eyes and black hair and wears glasses. He never told me where he works. He has an office. He works on the computer in his office downstairs. He has two computers downstairs and one upstairs. My dad like to eat spicy soup and drink soda. I like to play Connect Four with him. Sometimes I win and sometimes daddy wins. He takes me to get peanut butter and jelly at different places. My daddy is special because I love him! Camden, age 4

Snow Day
The kids enjoying their first snow day this year.

It was very cold out…

but, the kids had a great time making snow castles and shoveling.

Camden was the first to get cold and came in for hot chocolate. I called the other two in when it was time for lunch, but…

Emma had to be dragged in kicking and screaming because she was not finished playing.

Christmas 2009
Our family had a great Christmas this year. Each year it just gets better because the kids get more excited.
Each year we try and do things as a family that incorporate the true meaning of Christmas. This year we made an Advent calendar and did a magnetic nativity on the refrigerator. The kids enjoyed putting a new piece on the nativity and pulling out a different activity for us to do each day.

After Christmas Eve service and driving around to look at Christmas lights, the kids set out cookies and milk for Santa and then they were off to bed. This year Caleb was so excited that it took him a while to fall asleep, but Camden and Emma were out like a light.

Emma’s theme this year was “Princess”. She got a dress up outfit, jewelry, a pop-up princess castle and a tea set to play with.

Caleb and Camden got a Cars race track this year as a joint gift. They have spent endless hours playing with this toy. But, the big gifts for the boys were games and puzzles.

We spent the afternoon at my in-laws were we got more gifts and had Christmas dinner. Our dog, Milo, spent his afternoon on any available lap.

Shine the Light on the Richness of God’s Love
A group of ladies from my church decorated a tree for the 3rd time for Festival of Trees. We had a great time and are already looking forward to next year.

Halloween 2009
The kids were so excited for Halloween this year. It is exciting to watch as they get older how much more fun the holidays are getting for them.

This year the costumes were a fireman (Caleb), Indiana Jones (Camden) and Tinkerbell (Emma).

We walked around our neighborhood for about an hour.
Caleb got cold and wanted to go home, so he started dancing on the sidewalk to keep warm.

Camden charged on to each house for more candy. He would have stayed out all night if people would have continued passing out candy.

Emma’s bucket was so heavy with candy she could barely carry it. But, we didn’t dare try taking it from her or she told us, “Don’t take my bucket”. She is a very independent girl.

After going through our neighborhood, we went to the grandparents for the kids to show off their costumes and get more candy. Then it was home to eat a few pieces of candy and off to bed for three exhausted children.

Rockin’ the Red
We took the kids to the ISU Homecoming Parade last weekend. This was their first parade and it was great to experience it through their eyes.

Caleb and Camden were very excited about all of the candy that was thrown their way. We got so much we donated it to our church’s Harvest Fall Festival this weekend.

Emma was a good sport and hung out in her stroller the entire time. She had a great time waving at all the people and collecting her own bag of candy.

We were fortunate enough to run into a friend of the boys. Elijah and his family moved a couple of hours away 2 years ago and we don’t get to see them often enough. It was great for the kids to get to spend some time together.

Fall Weekend
Last weekend, our family took our annual trip to Tanner’s Orchard. This is a weekend we eagerly look forward to once the weather starts getting cooler.

The kids favorite part is the huge playground. They also love the cider barrel train rides.
If the weather hadn’t been so cold this year, they probably would have played longer. But, we were freezing and got inside quickly to get all of our goodies and enjoy an apple treat.

We, of course, got a 1/2 bushel of honeycrisp apples, a family favorite.

The weekend before, we went to Rader Family Farm. It is a pumpkin farm that has expanded this year and they had some fun things for the kids to do.

We need to get back there soon to get our pumpkins for Halloween.

First Day of Kindergarten
Today was Caleb’s first day of Kindergarten. He has been getting so excited about starting school and counting down the days for the last week.

When we got to school this morning, we lined up with his class and went to the gym for the morning assembly.

Then we went to his class. Caleb got to put his supplies in his cubby, look around his classroom and meet his teacher. The kindergarten classes only had to stay for one hour, so the morning was pretty short.

After we left school, we took him to Coffee Hound for a special treat.

It was a great first day of school and I am looking forward to what this year holds for him.
